A Salute to Style – from 10 October 2019 to 26 January 2020

For this exhibition, the Musée de l’Armée is bringing together two seemingly opposing worlds: the military and fashion. The exhibited pieces (showcasing armoury, gunsmithery, gold- and silversmithery, embroidery and saddlery) are from across history, from the 16th century to now. Throughout the ages, soldiers have always placed a lot of importance on their clothes as a mark of their prestige and success. A Salute to Style provides visitors with a historical, anthropological and aesthetic analysis of political power.
